I really should remember to count these. They always seem to slip my mind though. Fail. XD

Still, I'll post all the ones I write each month here, just so there's a record of them.

1. Come Back Soon (Andrew/Charles)
If he kept busy enough, Andrew barely had time to miss his best friend Charles. He thought about him, sure, but by the time he collapsed into bed at midnight, far later than he had ever adjusted to, all he wanted to do was sleep.

Sleep was where they met again, no more separated by vast oceans and stupid time zones. That was when Andrew missed him.

“I’ll be home soon,” Charles always said, a promise sealed with a kiss.

Andrew clung to him, believing his words utterly as he counted down the days. Soon he wouldn’t miss him anymore.

2. Mistake (Andrew/Charles -- now a full-length fic of the same title)
You’re sleeping peacefully. I’m awake and lying beside you. I brush your cheek with my fingers and can’t help kissing you gently. You stir, but remain asleep. I pull back and stare at the dark ceiling.

No one else brings me this much torment. I never tell you how much I miss you. I never tell you how much I love you. You grin at me, blissfully ignorant, and I adore you all the same.

I cringe as you grasp my fingers. Will you even remember the kiss I gave you? Will that be my big mistake if you do?

3. Another war (The Glass Houseverse!Andrew)
Andrew stepped onto the balcony, gazing over the war-torn land. His three years were almost up. Soon, he’d be free from all this terror and bloodshed.

The memory came to him as he lay in his bunk, many years later. War was coming again. He almost relished it. Having a gun in his hands again felt weirdly comforting.

His role was different now. He would not be interrogating anyone. He was one of the soldiers, just like all the rest, a man with a gun trying to defend their poor nation. Except this time, he had everything to fight for.

4. Nothing else matters (pre-The Glass Houseverse!Charles)
The stars shine bright while the moon hides behind a cloud. It’s midnight, and the air is still. Hundreds upon thousands of young men crowd the ships, waiting for the command. No one dares speak.

A silent mantra rings out in their minds. Just survive. Don’t get killed. Just survive.

The ocean waves crash against the side of the ships, the only noise that can be heard. Charles doesn’t want to be here. He grips his gun with sweaty palms. Everyone’s afraid.

Then the command goes out, and the men spill onto the beaches like a black tide of death.

5. Obsession/Cat's Point Of View/Homeless Man (Random cat, but I like to think it's kitteh!Andrew fending off hobo!Andrew)
I leap onto the wall, sinking low so I can keep hidden. I growl quietly. My dark alley way has been invaded.

The human ambles along, scruffy and stumbling. He sings loudly and out of tune to the heavens before falling back. Filthy human. This is my home, not yours.

I hiss at him, warn him to go away. He stops and looks at me. I don't think he sees me. I yowl louder. He startles.

I leap down onto the metal bin, proclaiming my ownership. I stand my ground. He will not take my home; I make him leave.

5. A Vampire, a Hitchhiker and a Vending Machine (Assassin) (Double The Fist -- I subscribe to the 'Mephisto is a vampire' theory)
Mephisto looked up from the corpse of the woman he’d been drinking from. He’d heard a noise. Someone was approaching him from across the lonely street.

“Heading to Sydney?” A wiry teenager stood before him.

“What business is it of yours if I am?” Mephisto said, rising slowly to his feet.

“Mind if I hitch a ride?” the boy said.

Mephisto considered his options. “I do, actually. But go down the road. A friend of mine will take you.”

The boy mumbled his thanks and left. Mephisto smiled with glee as he saw Tara swing her sword and decapitate him.
