Thanks for reading. :D The Move are quite an awesome band and totally one of my favourites. <3 I've got a bit more Move fic floating around (though I think it's mostly on dreamwidth) if you're interested in reading more.
What's loosely real: - The Move did play at the 1968 IoW festival - The stage was a couple of lorries parked side by side with some wire and plastic contraption covering it as a makeshift roof. - There was black plastic around the perimeter fencing, which some people tore off to use as blankets when it started getting cold. - The Move did (apparently) blow nine speakers during their act. - There were tents around the back of the stage for bands to change in. (And possibly sleep in.) That was it. - Jefferson Airplane did have a shitload of electrical gear for their 'lite show', projected onto a screen to the right of the stage. Apparently also had the warmest tent because of all the gear. - Roy did know Jeff at the time - I believe they first met in 1967? But don't quote me on that. They did record the Blackberry Way demo at Jeff's house too. Because he had a Mellotron in his front room. - Ace and Trevor did do a shitload of drugs. And Ace did get all the bad shit with it, which left him mentally ill for many, many years. Poor kid. Trevor never got any of that. - The guard at the entrance and his Alsatian. - Any references to homosexuality laws, which I did bother to study in some detail.
Anything else is completely fictional as far as I can tell. There wasn't really much information about the 1968 festival around anyway, so I was going to have to fictionalise much of it if I was going to write about it. But I did try to make it as accurate as I could, given what I had to work with. If the setting didn't feel right, the rest of the fic wouldn't feel right either, and for historical fic, that's important.
